Brenton G. Yorgason

Brenton G. "Brent" Yorgason is a Latter-day Saint novelist and writer. Many of his works were written in cooperation with his brother Blaine M. Yorgason.

Biography

Yorgason's most successful work was probably Chester, I Love You which was the basis for the Disney Film The Thanksgiving Promise. He has also written Little Know Evidences of the Book of Mormon a 42 page work defending the historicity of the Book of Mormon.

Yorgason served an LDS mission in Florida and Puerto Rico. He later served in the United States Army in Vietnam and was set apart as a special missionary while there.

Yorgason has bachelors, masters and a Ph.D. from Brigham Young University (BYU).

Brent and his wife Margaret have also written books together and given lectures on marriage and family. They are the parents of nine children.

Yorgason is the founder of The Lighthouse Institute and has been a part time instructor at BYU. As of 2004 he had worked as a marriage and family therapist for seventeen years.
